Dr. Amalia Harrington is an Assistant Professor at the School of Marine Sciences, University of Maine. Her research examines ecological responses of American lobster to environmental change.
Education:
- PhD in Marine Biology, University of Maine, 2019
- MS in Biology, San Diego State University, 2014
- BA in Marine Science, University of San Diego, 2010
Research interests focus on marine ecology, particularly behavioral, physiological, and community-level responses of American lobster (Homarus americanus) to changing environments. Her work addresses fishery resilience through collaborations with industry partners and resource managers.
Teaching includes Marine Ecology (SMS 300) and Integrative Marine Science IV: Physiology, Cell, and Molecular Biology (SMS 304).
