Alyssa Milton

Associate Professor Alyssa Milton is a translational mental health researcher at the University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health, Brain and Mind Centre. She serves as Director of the Knowledge Transfer Portfolio for the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course and contributes to the Lancet Commission on physical health of individuals with complex mental conditions. With 20+ years in academic and senior management roles across Australia and the UK, she leads NHMRC/MRFF-funded research on digital and peer-supported mental health programs.

Her research integrates participatory design and hybrid implementation-effectiveness methodologies to develop scalable mental health solutions for schizophrenia, psychosis discharge preparation, and school-aged well-being programs. Key projects include MyPREP-ED ($1.5M MRFF), SiMPliCITy ($1.2M NHMRC), and the Connect Promote Protect Program co-designed with Uniting NSW.ACT.

Recent publications span digital phenotyping, crisis care optimization, and AI-driven mental health interventions. Awards include the 2024 SMHR Rising Star and multiple grants from NHMRC, MRFF, and philanthropic foundations.
