Dr. Alyssa Hadley Dunn is Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Connecticut's Neag School of Education. A former high school English teacher, her research focuses on urban education for social and racial justice, teacher preparation, and educational equity amidst challenging policy environments.
Her research examines how to best prepare and support teachers for urban schools while teaching for justice amid reforms impacting working conditions. She has authored three award-winning books and published extensively in journals including American Educational Research Journal and Teachers College Record.
Dr. Dunn's work examines the intersections of educational policy, teacher identity, and social justice pedagogy. Her publications consistently address how educators navigate complex sociopolitical contexts while maintaining equitable teaching practices.
