Her work integrates political ecology perspectives with resilience theory to address challenges facing coastal communities in the context of climate change and globalization. She has conducted extensive research on intangible cultural heritage in maritime communities across Europe, East Asia, and Latin America, examining how traditional knowledge and practices can inform contemporary governance approaches.
Her publications reveal a consistent focus on the intersection of cultural heritage, marine governance, and community resilience. Recent work emphasizes gender dimensions in maritime heritage, socio-technical approaches to fisheries innovation, and steering resilience in coastal cultural landscapes. Her research demonstrates strong policy relevance with multiple contributions to EU frameworks including the Common Fisheries Policy and ocean governance initiatives.
