Jan van Tatenhove

Jan van Tatenhove is a Professor of Marine Governance and Maritime Spatial Planning at Aalborg University's Department of Sustainability and Planning, within The Technical Faculty of IT and Design. His research focuses on marine governance institutionalization, regional sea dynamics, and political modernization. He leads and participates in prominent projects like PERMAGOV, SEAwise, and AEGIS, addressing marine policy performance, ecosystem-based fisheries management, and sustainable transport systems. He serves on editorial boards of journals such as Politics and Governance and Water, and is a member of the EU International Ocean Governance Forum.
