معرفی
Alon Greenbaum is an Assistant Professor in the joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, appointed in January 2019 through the Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program cluster in High-dimensional Integration of Biological Systems.
Education:
- Bachelor and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles
Research Focus: Dr. Greenbaum develops advanced imaging technologies and computational algorithms for three-dimensional profiling of intact organs to investigate aging and disease mechanisms. His work integrates adaptive light-sheet microscopy for whole-organ imaging, big-data computational tools, and translational applications targeting rare stem-cell niches in age-associated pathologies. Previously, his biophotonics research at UCLA centered on high-throughput microscopy, while his Caltech postdoctoral work pioneered imaging techniques for bone and neuroscience applications.
Scientific Recognition:
- Good Ventures Postdoctoral Fellowship (Life Sciences Research Foundation)
- Howard Hughes Medical Institute International Student Research Fellowship
Professional Impact: With over 25 peer-reviewed publications and 30+ conference presentations, Dr. Greenbaum contributes to the High-dimensional Integration of Biological Systems cluster, driving interdisciplinary innovation in biological data integration and imaging technology development.
