Alon Greenbaum is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at NC State University. His work focuses on developing advanced bio-imaging technologies and computational tools for 3D profiling of intact organs to study aging and disease progression. The Greenbaum Lab specializes in adaptive light-sheet microscopy, big data analysis, and translational applications like stem-cell niche exploration.
Education: PhD in Electrical Engineering (UCLA), M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Tel Aviv University). Research areas include tissue clearing (TC) methodologies, imaging device innovation, and bio-distribution mapping of biologics. Key awards include the LSRF Postdoctoral Fellowship (2016) and recognition from the UCLA IEEE Photonics Society (2014).
Lab activities address technical challenges in imaging large tissue volumes and data analysis, aiming to study rare microenvironments, drug perturbations, and age-related diseases. Collaborative projects span neurobiology, regenerative medicine, and medical imaging systems.
