Allyson L. Wilson

Allyson L. Wilson is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication at George Mason University (GMU), where she teaches COMM 101: Fundamentals in Communication Education. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Strategic Communication at GMU, focusing on uncertainty, heuristics, normative messaging, and social media dynamics. Ms. Wilson holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication/Public Relations (2023) and a Bachelor of Individualized Study in Legal Communication (2021), both from GMU, where she earned honors in both programs.

Her professional background includes over two decades of administrative leadership as Chief Operating Officer at a Northern Virginia criminal defense law firm and roles in academic administration at NC State University, where she managed interdepartmental operations and financial forecasting. Her research emphasizes applying communication theories to public health challenges, such as vaccine uptake strategies for underserved populations, as showcased in her 2022 presentation at the National Communication Association conference.
