Dr. Allison Fong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Language, Literature & Culture at Clark University. She teaches courses in French language, literature, and cultural studies while mentoring teaching assistants from France and advising on study abroad programs.
Her research examines representations of 'errancy' in twentieth and twenty-first century French and Francophone literary texts. Scholarly interests include explorations of wandering and straying, spatial movement, transgression, liminality, everyday experiences, Surrealist aesthetics, and constructions of subjectivity through writing practices.
Dr. Fong holds a Ph.D. in French Studies from Brown University (2012), a Master of Advanced Studies from Université de Paris (2003), an M.A. in French Cultural Studies from Columbia University (2002), and a B.A. in French with teaching certification from the University of Michigan (1999).
