Prof. Allison Bain is a Professor of Archaeology at Université Laval and former Director of the CÉLAT research centre. She co-directs the historical archaeology field school since 2006 and leads the environmental archaeology laboratory at the university. Her research focuses on human-environment interactions, with active projects in North/South America, Scandinavia, and Europe. She collaborates internationally, notably leading a NSF/SSHRC-funded Caribbean environmental archaeology initiative with City University of New York (CUNY). She is affiliated with the Groupe de recherche en archéométrie (FRQ-SC funded) and engages in multidisciplinary paleoclimatology studies. Her work bridges archaeological practice with economic development, education, and community identity-building.
