Aliza Shvarts

Aliza Shvarts is Assistant Professor of Performance and Director of the Low-Residency MFA program at SAIC. She holds a PhD from NYU and BA from Yale. Her practice examines testimony, reproductive labor, and dissent through performance, installation, and digital media.

Research interrogates gendered credibility, institutional power, and speech circulation. Notable works include Untitled [Senior Thesis] (censored, 2008) and Anthem (rape kit analysis).

Awards include Warhol Foundation grants and fellowships at A.I.R. Gallery and Recess Art.
