Mira Dayal is a visual artist, writer, editor, and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. Affiliated with institutions including Barnard College, School of Visual Arts, and Parsons School of Design, she serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor and Part-Time Lecturer. Her practice intertwines sculpture, installation, and art criticism.
- Education: MA in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2024), BA in Visual Arts and Economics from Barnard College (2017, summa cum laude).
Dayal’s research explores the intersection of language and materiality, often interrogating structural systems through works like her 2025 solo exhibition Colloidal Bodies and the reCAPTCHA series. Her artistic publications (e.g., Instructions: 9 Sculptures, Language Object Index) and collaborative projects (e.g., Track Changes: A Handbook for Art Criticism) reflect her commitment to expanding art criticism.
