Professor Alistair Fraser is a leading scholar in Criminology and Sociology at the University of Glasgow, with a research focus on youth violence, global gangs, and urban crime dynamics. His interdisciplinary work combines ethnography, cultural analysis, and public policy engagement.

- Former Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong (2010-2014)
Research spans youth gangs, organized crime, public health approaches to violence, and urban sociology. His 2015 book Urban Legends won the British Society of Criminology Book Prize and was shortlisted for the BBC/BSA Ethnography Award.
Recent publications examine gangs in the gig economy (2024), policy narratives (2024), and methodological innovations in critical gang studies (2022). He holds grants from ESRC, Scottish Government, and Hong Kong’s RGC.
