Alison Tingle is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Public Health and Community Care within the School of Health and Social Work at the University of Hertfordshire. Her career focuses on social care, ageing, dementia, and digital technologies to enhance community wellbeing.
Education:
- PhD in Social Care and Social Work from Manchester Metropolitan University (2021)
- MSc in Advanced Care in Dementia from King's College London (2014)
- BSc (Hons) Psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University (1993)
Research Interests: Alison's work addresses inequalities in social care, cultural activities for older adults, and digital technologies to support carers and community-dwelling older adults. She has explored Age Friendly Cities and led projects on dementia care.
Publications (2023-2025): Her recent outputs include a systematic review on non-pharmacological interventions for people with dementia living alone and a series of reports analyzing digital technologies' role in social wellbeing for older adults. These intersect with social work, geriatric psychiatry, and age-friendly policy design.
Projects: Alison is currently active in the NPPASC (National Priority for Adult Social Care and Social Work) project (2020-2025) and the Evaluation of the NDTi Community Led Support programme, collaborating with professionals like K. Almack and J. Forder.
