معرفی
Alison is a PhD researcher at the University of Bradford's Centre for Applied Dementia Studies, supervised by Dr. Catherine Quinn, Professor Gail Mountain, and Elizabeth Teale. Her project explores how psychological and social factors affect the lived experience of aging with physical frailty and cognitive impairment.
She began her career as a care assistant for older adults 13 years ago, later earning a psychology degree from the University of Bradford. Her research experience includes NHS trials and a 'living lab' approach developed by the University of Leeds since 2018, focusing on care home improvements through stakeholder collaboration.
Alison's work employs
- Qualitative narrative inquiry with 16-20 participants
- Content analysis of life stories via remote interviews
- Community care practice evaluation informed by initial findings
She plans to publish her findings and pursue postdoctoral funding to develop training programs for non-NHS community care professionals. Supported by the Wolfson Centre for Applied Health Research and Bradford Institute for Health Research, her PhD is funded through a University of Bradford studentship under the National Institute for Health Research, Yorkshire and Humber Applied Research Collaborations.
