Dr Alison F. Smith is a Lecturer in Health Economics at the University of Leeds, affiliated with the Academic Unit of Health Economics (AUHE), the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) in Accelerated Surgical Care, and the Leeds Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). She leads the Test Evaluation Group, focusing on economic evaluations of medical tests and technologies.
Research Interests:
- Health-economic evaluation of diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive tests
- Model-based assessments and Discrete Event Simulation (DES)
- Evidence-based Laboratory Medicine
- Decision modelling using Excel, R, and Simul8 software
