Dr. Alina Polyakova is the Donald Marron Senior Fellow at the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs, Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She also serves as President and CEO of the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA). Her expertise spans transatlantic relations, European security, Russian foreign policy, digital authoritarianism, and populism in democracies. She authored The Dark Side of European Integration and contributes to major outlets like The Washington Post and Foreign Affairs.
Education: PhD and MA in Sociology (University of California, Berkeley); BA in Economics and Sociology (Emory University).
Research focuses on far-right movements in Europe, digital governance, and geopolitical challenges. She has held prestigious fellowships at the National Science Foundation, Woodrow Wilson Center, and Fulbright Foundation.
