Alina Carrozzini is a Lecturer in European Law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a PhD Candidate in EU Law at King's College London, funded by the Centre of European Law. She previously served as a Visiting Lecturer in Law at King's and currently acts as deputy editor of the UKAEL blog. Her research focuses on EU administrative law and external relations law, particularly analyzing the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) through an administrative law lens.
Education: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law at King's College London, focusing on the legal aspects of EU external relations. Her doctoral thesis explores the rise of administrative law in EU external relations, emphasizing procedural and executive dimensions of CFSP.
Research Interests: EU Law, International Law, and CFSP legal frameworks. She examines topics such as arms export controls, solidarity principles in EU jurisprudence, and the normalization of liability in EU sanctions. Her work bridges administrative law with EU external policy, exploring how legal structures shape foreign policy implementation.
Publications: Alina has contributed to peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, including analyses of the EU-Turkey migration statement, CJEU judgments on CFSP cases, and reviews on EU global governance roles. Her recent work addresses the direct effect of CFSP norms and arms export regulations.
Professional Activities: Member of the European Law Institute (2021–2022), Visiting Researcher at the T.M.C. Asser Institute (2021), and presenter at conferences such as 'Imagining Solidarity in International and Regional Law' (2021).
