Alimjon Eshmatov is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Toledo, affiliated with the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. His academic journey includes a PhD from Cornell University, postdoctoral positions at the University of Arizona and University of Western Ontario, and a visiting professorship at Cornell. He specializes in advanced areas of algebraic geometry, symplectic geometry, and noncommutative algebra.
Education: BSc from National University of Uzbekistan (with Presidential Scholarship), PhD from Cornell University under Reyer Sjamaar. His research focuses on quasi-Hamiltonian spaces, automorphism groups, and Calogero-Moser spaces. Notable contributions include work on derived Poisson structures and representation schemes.
Research Interests: Symplectic Geometry, Noncommutative Geometry, Algebraic Structures, Representation Theory. His work bridges geometric and algebraic approaches to problems in mathematics.
