Aliki Dragona

Aliki Dragona is a Continuing Lecturer at the University of California, Davis, where she has taught since 1994. She specializes in composition courses such as UWP 1, English 3, and advanced writing disciplines. Her teaching spans both lower and upper division levels.

Education: B.A. in English from the University of Athens (Greece), followed by M.A. and Ph.D. from SUNY Binghamton. She was certified as a literary translator of Modern Greek through SUNY's CRIT/TRIP program. While on leave (1992-1994), she taught at Deree College, the American College of Greece.

Research interests include Composition Theory, Modern Greek studies, ESL, Contemporary fiction, African-American literature, Feminist theory, Translation studies, and 19th-century British literature. Since 2002, she has led the Summer Sessions Abroad program 'Travelers in Greece.'
