Alice Hehir is a Teaching Associate at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Education, specializing in Early Primary and General Primary PGCE courses. She teaches mathematics and professional studies, mentors trainee teachers, and serves as a Section II examiner for placement assessments. She holds roles such as personal and partnership tutor, supporting trainees' subject knowledge development.
Her education includes a BA (Hons) and PGCE from the University of Cambridge, followed by an MPhil in Primary Education focusing on mathematics curriculum development. Her research explores teachers' attitudes toward mathematics schemes of work, and she supervises MEd students in Primary Education.
Prior to academia, Alice was a primary school teacher, leading mathematics, music, RE, PE, and PSHE curricula. She mentored PGCE trainees and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). At the Faculty, she co-chairs the Faculty Forum and serves on the Research Committee, representing Teaching Associates.
Her broader interests include sustainability, leading the Faculty's Green Impact team to a gold award. She also participates in the Faculty's pop-up choir.
