Ali Skandor is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Africana, Gender, & Identity Studies at Ohio Wesleyan University, where he teaches Swahili language courses. He is actively involved in student engagement and international service learning, having directed a mission trip to Johannesburg, South Africa, in collaboration with the Office of the University Chaplain.
His work emphasizes cultural education, community service, and African linguistic traditions. His teaching supports interdisciplinary programs such as Black World Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies.
Skandor contributed to experiential education by leading a summer volunteer initiative at an orphanage in Johannesburg, involving six OWU students, highlighting his commitment to global citizenship and service-based learning.
