Dawn Chisebe is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Africana, Gender, & Identity Studies and serves as the Chief Diversity Officer at Ohio Wesleyan University. She contributes to interdisciplinary academic programs including Women’s and Gender Studies and Africana studies, and plays a key role in promoting diversity and inclusion across campus.

Her research centers on Black women's histories, health disparities, and the historical impact of colonialism in Africa, particularly regarding the spread of HIV. She also explores African and Caribbean literature and Atlantic World history, connecting African diasporic experiences across regions. Her teaching includes the course Black Women and Feminisms, offered annually in the spring.
Dawn is deeply involved in international education, having led student study-abroad programs to Barbados, Mexico, Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, and Namibia, fostering global engagement and cross-cultural learning.
As Chief Diversity Officer, she leads institutional diversity initiatives, combining her academic expertise with administrative leadership to advance equity and inclusion at OWU.
She holds an LPN compact licensure, reflecting additional professional training in healthcare, though it is not central to her academic role.
