Ali Askari is a PhD Candidate at the University of Kent's School of Politics and International Relations, admitted in 2023. He concurrently serves as the sole competitive Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) for the 2023-2024 academic year. His research focuses on British foreign and security policy dynamics, particularly examining British-Iranian relations through the lens of Iran’s nuclear programme (2002–2022).

Research interests emphasize identity reconstruction in foreign policy decision-making, analyzing official documents and parliamentary debates from the Theresa May and Boris Johnson eras.
