Ali Askari is a PhD Candidate at the University of Kent's School of Politics and International Relations, admitted in 2023. He concurrently serves as the sole competitive Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) for the 2023-2024 academic year. His research focuses on British foreign and security policy dynamics, particularly examining British-Iranian relations through the lens of Iran’s nuclear programme (2002–2022).

Research interests emphasize identity reconstruction in foreign policy decision-making, analyzing official documents and parliamentary debates from the Theresa May and Boris Johnson eras. Supervised by Prof. Richard Whitman and Dr. Tim Aistrope, his work bridges historical policy analysis with contemporary geopolitical challenges.
