Dr. Al-Janabi completed his medical education at the University of Cambridge, earning both a Bachelor of Arts in Pathology and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree. He later obtained his Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Manchester in 2023, funded by the MRC North West Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics scheme. He is also a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP).
His primary research interests focus on understanding paradoxical eczema in psoriasis patients treated with biologics. His work integrates multiple methodologies including epidemiology, genome-wide association studies, polygenic risk scores, and bioinformatic analysis of proteomics and transcriptomics datasets. His research contributes to several UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to health and well-being.
Dr. Al-Janabi's publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on biologics in dermatological conditions, with recent work examining single-cell transcriptomic signatures, risk assessment for paradoxical eczema, and the intersection of immunomodulators with vaccine response. His research spans clinical dermatology, immunology, and genetic risk assessment.

Dr. Al-Janabi actively contributes to clinical guideline development as a member of the British Association of Dermatologists' (BAD) guideline panel for biological therapy. His work bridges clinical practice and research, with multiple publications in high-impact dermatology journals. He collaborates extensively with researchers across the UK on psoriasis and atopic dermatitis studies.
His research group focuses on understanding the mechanisms behind paradoxical skin reactions in patients receiving biologic therapies, with particular attention to genetic risk factors and immune response patterns. Dr. Al-Janabi's work has received significant attention, with multiple publications covered by news outlets and social media platforms.
