Alexandre Lamas Freire

Dr. Alexandre Lamas Freire is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Nutrition and Bromatology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Santiago de Compostela. He is affiliated with the Strategic Grouping in Sustainable Management and Production of Bioresources (BioReDes) and the LHICA-USC research group focused on Food Hygiene, Inspection and Control.

• Education: Doctorate (2019) from University of Santiago de Compostela with thesis on Prevalence and characterization of Salmonella strains of the poultry industry: Determining factors in its survival and biofilm formation
• Research Focus: Food safety, pathogen characterization, biofilm dynamics, and sustainable resource management in veterinary contexts.
