Professor Alexandra Kürtz serves as an artistic professor at the University of Paderborn's Institute for Art / Music / Textiles within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities since 2009. Her academic journey includes prior teaching positions at the universities of Cologne, Münster, Siegen, Osnabrück, and the Münster Art Academy.
Her educational background features a Fine Art diploma and master student status from the Münster Art Academy, complemented by teaching qualifications in textiles and art from the University of Cologne (first and second state examinations).
Prof. Kürtz maintains an active interdisciplinary artistic practice spanning painting, drawing, relief printing, object creation, installation, and photography. Her current research emphasizes sustainable art using found objects, resulting in collages, kinetic objects, and site-specific installations that transform discarded everyday items into thought-provoking works. Her teaching focuses on artistic material experimentation, sustainability principles, slow fashion, and exhibition practices across four degree programs.

Her pedagogical approach has produced successful graduates working with major fashion houses including Buffalo Boats and HKM Lingen, as well as independent entrepreneurs running fashion labels like machart_manufaktur and IndividuaLIStA. She maintains active exhibition schedules with current shows in Krefeld and Paderborn through October 2025, plus upcoming projects including the Peace Art Festival and sustainable art exhibitions in Bonn.
