Tina Tonagel

Prof. Tina Tonagel is a visual artist and musician serving as Guest Professor of Sound at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne since 2022. She studied art and music at Bielefeld University (1994–1999) and earned a diploma in media art from the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (2004) under VALIE EXPORT.

Her artistic practice spans kinetics, sound art, and audiovisual performance, focusing on electromechanical constructions and analog sound generation. She co-founded the association Wilde Kulturtechniken e.V. and has held teaching positions at institutions including the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts, HBKsaar, and IFS International Film School Cologne.
