Dr Alexander Wilson is a Lecturer in Security Studies at the Defence Studies Department, King’s College London. He teaches professional military education to global officers and convenes MA modules on Land Warfare and Critical Analysis of Battle. He previously taught history at the Department of War Studies and strategy at the Royal College of Defence Studies.
His research focuses on India's military history during WWII and transnational socio-political dimensions of the conflict. His work spans archives in India/Nepal and battlefields from Italy to Myanmar. He actively participates in networks like the Second World War Research Group (Regional Director for Europe/MENA since 2019). Public engagement includes roles in Operation REFLECT (UK WWI centenary project), Smithsonian Channel’s WWII Battles in Colour (2021), and the Chandigarh Military Literature Festival (2020).
He supervises PhD research in WWII operational history, socio-political dimensions of the war, and South Asian military history. He is affiliated with the Sir Michael Howard Centre for the History of War, which hosts research projects and conferences on war's scholarly dimensions.
