Alexander Thomas

Dr. Alexander Thomas is a Senior Lecturer at the University of East London (UEL), based in the Media, Fashion & Communications Department within the School of Arts and Creative Industries. He holds a PhD from UEL, alongside advanced degrees in English Literature, Creative Writing, and Film/TV Direction from Cardiff, St Andrews, and Westminster Universities. His research interrogates posthumanist and transhumanist themes, exploring how technological and biotechnological advancements redefine human identity.

Qualifications include a BA Hons (1st Class) in English Literature and Philosophy from Cardiff, M.Litt. in Creative Writing (St Andrews), MA in Directing (Westminster), and a UEL PhD. His creative work includes multiple award-winning short films like Beverley (Oscar longlisted) and his podcast A-Z of the Future, which examines contemporary societal challenges.
