Alexander Brat is a Senior Executive Director, Labour Relations at the University of Toronto, leading a team managing collective agreements for 25 bargaining units across 10 unions, covering over 20,000 employees. He concurrently serves as a Sessional Instructor in the Master of Industrial Relations & Human Resources (MIR) program at the University of Toronto’s Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources (CIRHR). His teaching focuses on Labour Arbitration, HR Strategy & Planning, and Training & Development.
With over 30 years of experience, Alex has held senior roles in HR and Labour Relations across higher education, professional services, and manufacturing sectors, including positions at Capgemini, Bombardier Aerospace, and Ford of Canada. His expertise spans strategy development, change management, and collective bargaining in both private and public sectors.
Alex holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management and a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
