Alex Neve is a part-time Adjunct Professor of International Human Rights Law at the University of Ottawa and Dalhousie University. He also holds a Senior Fellowship with the University of Ottawa’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. With a career spanning decades, Neve has been deeply involved in global and domestic human rights advocacy, including over 40 research and advocacy missions across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Guantánamo Bay, and First Nations communities in Canada.

His work focuses on the intersection of international human rights law, refugee and immigration policy, and public international affairs. He has extensive experience in legal advocacy, having served on the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, taught at Osgoode Hall Law School, and worked with York University's Centre for Refugee Studies and in refugee legal aid clinics. His career also includes a 20-year tenure as Secretary General of Amnesty International Canada.
