Alex Lopez is an Adjunct Instructor of Research at Tulane University and a PhD candidate in the School of Liberal Arts. Their work focuses on the social, political, and economic impacts of U.S. colonization on Puerto Rico, using mapping and visual analysis to examine political art in Old San Juan as a spatial intervention. Research interests include decolonial social movements, disaster prevention, and collective recovery strategies.
