Alex Ivetic is a Reader in Cardiovascular Biology at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Cardiovascular Sciences and Medicine and the London Centre for Nanotechnology. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of leukocyte adhesion and recruitment in cardiovascular inflammation and sterile injury contexts.

Research Interests: Ivetic investigates the Leukocyte Adhesion Cascade with emphasis on sterile injury models (myocardial infarction, venous thrombosis). His work integrates intravital microscopy, molecular biology, and immunology to elucidate leukocyte homing mechanisms and develop therapeutic interventions for inflammatory cardiovascular conditions.
Publication Trends: Recent work (2021-2024) centers on endothelial-leukocyte interactions, redox signaling (Nox enzymes), and adhesion molecules (L-selectin, ezrin/radixin/moesin family). Key themes include oxidative stress in cardiac fibrosis, endothelial permeability regulation, and translational applications for cardiovascular therapeutics.
