Dr. Christina Warboys is a Lecturer in Basic Sciences and British Heart Foundation Intermediate Research Fellow at the Royal Veterinary College. Her research focuses on cardiovascular biology, particularly how mechanical forces like shear stress influence atherosclerosis localization and endothelial dysfunction. She works in the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences, utilizing orbital shaker models to study disturbed vs. undisturbed flow effects on endothelial signaling pathways.
- PhD in Vascular Physiology, King’s College London
- Postdoctoral research at Imperial College London and King’s College London
Her work investigates the Wnt/β-catenin pathway’s role in mechanosignaling, inflammation, and permeability. She also collaborates with Professor Albert Ferro on shear-regulated apoptotic signaling. Dr. Warboys has supervised postgraduate students and served on research committees, contributing to advancements in endothelial mechanobiology and therapeutic strategies for atherosclerosis.
- BHF Intermediate Research Fellowship
- Member of British Society for Cardiovascular Research
