Alex Hall

Dr. Alex Hall is a Lecturer in the Division of Nursing, Midwifery & Social Work at the University of Manchester. He serves as deputy lead of the Healthy Ageing Research Group and co-investigator of the NIHR Healthy Ageing Policy Research Unit. His qualifications include a PhD from University of Manchester (2016), MSc in Social Science & Health Research from Newcastle University (2012), and BA(Hons) in English Language.

Dr. Hall's research focuses on social gerontology, dementia care, palliative care systems, and health technologies for aging populations. His methodological expertise includes qualitative research, mixed methods, evidence synthesis and implementation theory. Current projects examine digital interventions for care homes and frailty assessment methodologies.

He has received prestigious fellowships including the MRC Doctoral Training Award (2012), President's Doctoral Scholar Award (2012), and RCUK Policy Fellowship (2016). As division PGR Tutor, he coordinates research training and supervises graduate students.
