Professor Collie employs mixed methods approaches, including participatory modeling techniques to re-imagine workers' compensation scheme design in Australia.
Professor Collie's extensive publication record of 277 research outputs demonstrates consistent contributions to understanding work disability prevention, workers' compensation systems, and occupational health policy. His recent research (2021-2025) shows particular focus on the impact of extreme events (bushfires, pandemics) on occupational health and injury claims, as well as the evaluation of rehabilitation services for compensated workers with conditions like low back pain. His work bridges academic research with practical policy implementation, often involving large-scale data linkage studies and international collaborations.
