Professor Alex Collie is a Research Professor at Monash University's School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, leading the Healthy Working Lives Research Group and the Division of Health Systems, Services, and Policy. He holds global leadership roles, including President of the Scientific Committee on Work Disability Prevention (ICOH) and Chair of the Australian National Centre for Healthy Ageing's Living Labs program. His research focuses on work injury rehabilitation, workers' compensation systems, and social protection schemes for personal injuries, with a particular emphasis on musculoskeletal disorders, mental health, and occupational health policy.
Collie's academic contributions include over 273 peer-reviewed publications, spanning epidemiology, health policy analysis, and comparative studies across Australian and international compensation systems. He has secured significant grants, including an ARC Future Fellowship (2020-2024), and leads major projects like the Worker Voice initiative and the TRANSITIONS data linkage study.
