Aleksandra Peeroo

Aleksandra Peeroo is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Hertfordshire's Hertfordshire Business School, affiliated with the Sustainability Research Group. She previously taught at SOAS University of London, King's College London, University of Mauritius, and Sorbonne in Paris.

Research Focus: Political economy of water governance, green transitions, and postcolonial institutional analysis. Key areas include colonial legacies in water resource allocation, sustainability challenges in small island states, and interdisciplinary projects on green hydrogen exports and energy transitions.

• Political Economy of Green Hydrogen Morocco-UK Phase 2 (2025-2026): Investigates green hydrogen trade dynamics between Morocco and the UK.
• Unpacking Green Discontent (2025-): Examines socio-economic tensions in Germany's energy transition.
• Mauritian Water Sector Governance (2014-2015): Analyzed institutional barriers to sustainable water management in Mauritius.
