Christina Wolf is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Hertfordshire, affiliated with the Hertfordshire Business School. Previously, she held positions at Kingston University and the University of East London. Her expertise spans Development Economics, Industrial Policy, and Macroeconomics.
Education: PhD in Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) focusing on China's influence on African industrialization. MSc from SOAS and prior studies in Economics and Political Sciences at the University of Münster and Sciences Po Lille.
Research interests include uneven development, industrial policy, regional inequality, and green transitions. She investigates demand-led industrialization in Nigeria, spatial disparities in East Germany, and perceptions of injustice in energy transitions. Theoretically, her work synthesizes post-Keynesian, post-Marxist, and structuralist economic frameworks.
Key projects include studies on anchor firms in East Germany, green discontent in Germany's energy transition, and Nigeria's industrial ecosystem. Her research outputs span 17 peer-reviewed articles and policy papers, emphasizing African economies, Chinese investment, and structural transformation.
Labs/Teams: Active in the Sustainability Research Group at Hertfordshire Business School. Collaborates on projects addressing net-zero financing and regional development strategies.
