Siobhan Bygate is a Professor affiliated with the University of Hertfordshire's School of Life and Medical Sciences, leading the Critical Humanities and International Politics Research Group. She specializes in Political Economy and Religion & Society, with a focus on Green Hydrogen projects in MENA/Europe, Sufism, and post-colonial theory. Her academic career spans over three decades, including a PhD from Loughborough University (1998) and multiple fellowships in Higher Education Pedagogy.

- MPhil in Soviet and East European Studies, University of Glasgow (1990–1992)
- MSc (Hons) Politics with German, University of Edinburgh (1983–1987)
Research Interests: Her work bridges political economy and spirituality, addressing energy transition (Green Hydrogen), North African development, and the socio-political role of Sufism in pandemic conditions. Recent projects include Political Economy of Green Hydrogen Morocco-UK and Sufi Spirituality in Times of Covid19.
