Hélyette Geman is a Research Professor in Mathematical Finance at Johns Hopkins University's Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and a Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South in Rabat, Morocco. She holds PhDs in mathematical statistics from Pierre and Marie Curie University and in finance from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, alongside an MS in atomic/molecular physics.
Her research spans financial mathematics, commodities, insurance, and probability theory, with recent emphasis on climate sciences, green energy, sustainable agriculture, and climate finance. Her 2023 book Investing with Art explores art's economic, cultural, and emotional roles in modern society.
