معرفی
Alejandro E. Relling is an Associate Professor in the Department of Animal Sciences at The Ohio State University, affiliated with the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). He holds a DVM (1998), MSc (2006), and PhD (2009) in Animal Sciences from Universidad Nacional de La Plata and The Ohio State University. His research focuses on understanding biological mechanisms regulating feed efficiency and adipose tissue metabolism in ruminants, integrating gut physiology, endocrinology, and cell biology. He teaches courses like ANIMSCI 3147, 5031, and 8999, and is a member of the American Society of Animal Science and American Dairy Science Association.
Key research areas include ruminant nutrition, digestive physiology, and metabolic endocrinology. Recent work explores maternal dietary supplementation effects on offspring productivity, oxytocin pharmacokinetics in cattle, and fatty acid impacts on developmental programming. He advises postdoctoral scholar Alejandro maria Pittaluga Rossi. His lab focuses on improving livestock productivity through nutritional interventions and physiological understanding.
Publications span topics from genomic imprinting (ZNF791 locus) to metabolomic profiling in sheep. He collaborates on national initiatives like NCCC308 for feedlot cattle management optimization.
