Dr. Alejandro Castrillón is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Baylor University, teaching in both the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (BIC) and the Political Science Department. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame, an M.A. in Iberian and Latin American Studies from the same institution, an M.A. in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, and a B.A. in Philosophy, History, and Political Science from Boston University.
- Research focuses on political theory, spanning ancient political thought to modern republicanism, with a specialization in Latin American contexts.
- Co-editor of Contemporary Far-Right Thinkers and the Future of Liberal Democracy, analyzing Far-Right intellectuals globally, and contributor to the journal History of Political Thought.
- Currently completing a monograph on Simón Bolívar’s political and constitutional thought.
Teaching includes courses on World Cultures, Social World, and International Politics.
