معرفی
Alejandro Alvarez Laguna is a CNRS permanent Researcher at the Plasma Physics Laboratory (LPP) of Ecole Polytechnique in France. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from KU Leuven (Belgium) and a postgraduate master's in Fluid Dynamics from the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics. His research focuses on low-temperature plasmas, magnetic fusion plasmas, and turbulence modeling, with affiliations to the Cold Plasma team and collaborations with NASA's Supercomputing division during his PhD. He previously served as a Jacques Hadamard Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow and CNRS Associate Research Fellow.
Education:
- PhD in Mathematics, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium (2017)
- Postgraduate Research Master in Fluid Dynamics (VKI, Belgium, 2013)
- Aeronautical Engineering Degree, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain (2012)
Research Interests: His work spans plasma diagnostics, computational plasma dynamics, and applications of cold plasmas. He contributes to space plasma instrumentation and turbulence studies within the LPP's Transverse Axes of Digital Simulation and Turbulence. His team develops tools for plasma data processing and collaborates on missions like the TORIX tokamak reflectometry project.
