Gérard Belmont

Gérard Belmont is a Research Director (DR1 CNRS) at the Plasma Physics Laboratory (LPP), affiliated with École Polytechnique and Sorbonne University. He is part of the 'Space Plasmas' team, focusing on theoretical and observational studies of collisionless plasmas in space environments. His work includes analyzing data from space missions, particularly the Earth's magnetopause, and interpreting fluid-kinetic relationships in plasma dynamics. He collaborates on missions like hybrid simulations of magnetic reconnection and studies turbulence in the magnetosheath and solar wind.
