Professor Albert Westergren at Kristianstad University's Faculty of Health Sciences, affiliated with the Department of Nursing Education and Integrated Health Sciences, PROCARE (Patient Reported Outcomes - Clinical Assessment Research and Education), and the Center for Food Health and Retail (FOHRK). He also leads the Health in Collaboration research platform and contributes to Swedish Research Council-funded projects.

His research spans neurology and nutrition in aging populations, developing key clinical tools like the Minimal Eating Observation Form - Version II (MEOF-II) and Minimal Insomnia Symptom Scale (MISS). Current work focuses on playfulness for elderly well-being through the PLAY-SE project.
Recent publications analyze preventive home visit efficacy, Rasch model insomnia scale validation, and cultural adaptation in patient care instruments. His work on play-based interventions for mobility-limited seniors will involve cross-institutional collaboration with Red Cross University and Örebro University.
