Alastair Langtry is an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Economics at the University of Bristol's School of Economics. He holds degrees including a PhD and focuses on microeconomic theory, particularly social networks and political economy. His research explores lobbying dynamics, social comparisons, and public goods provision. He has been awarded the EEA Young Economist Award (2022).

Research interests span behavioral economics, labor markets, and experimental economics. Recent work includes analyzing social distancing during the pandemic through interactive experiments and modeling gambling behavior in political re-election contexts. He leads the Harmful norms within organizations research project (2025–2027). Teaching includes courses on economic analytics and modeling at the MSc level.
