Alan M. Weinberger

Alan M. Weinberger is a Professor of Law at Saint Louis University School of Law, holding the position since 1994. He earned his J.D. (Magna cum laude) and A.B. (with high distinction) from the University of Michigan. His research focuses on corporate law, securities compliance, property law, and fiduciary duty. He has been honored four times by the Student Bar Association as Faculty Member of the Year and received the 2016 John A. Slosar Shared Governance Award. His scholarship includes groundbreaking work on insider trading compliance and the erosion of caveat emptor principles.

Professor Weinberger has held visiting professorships at institutions including Hebrew University, Ruhr University, and Washington University. Before academia, he practiced law in Washington D.C. and Detroit, specializing in real estate and corporate transactions. His community contributions include roles with the Jewish Federation of St. Louis and Temple Israel Congregation.

His publications span over 20 years, addressing topics such as mortgage prepayment presumptions, partnership liability, and legal ethics. He co-authored the influential Property Law: Cases, Materials and Problems. His service roles include Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and leadership in university committees on curriculum and faculty governance.
