Alan Dickson

Alan Dickson is Professor of Biotechnology at the University of Manchester, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Biopharmaceuticals (COEBP), and Co-Director of BioProNET. His research focuses on optimizing mammalian cell systems for biopharmaceutical production.

• Molecular drivers of lactate metabolic shifts

Recent publications examine metabolic signatures of high-yield antibody production and bispecific antibody manufacturing challenges. He leads £250K projects developing sustainable bioprocessing in West Africa and serves as advisor to biotech companies including APIVITA.

Awards include the Peter Dunnill Award for contributions to bioprocessing. His teaching integrates research with industrial case studies in MSc Biotechnology programs.
